The Liberal Arts are the foundation of a St. Johns education.
In order to prepare our students for life, we understand that they need to master a body of knowledge in a variety of disciplines and develop a set of skills that allows them to be productive citizens in the world they will help shape.
On any given day, ask our students what they've learned - and where. It's likely that you'll hear about an English teacher's classroom, and the freedom students feel to become absolutely absorbed in literature. You'll also find students of different grade levels learning side by side in an environment that ranks individual ability above grade level. Amid the halls of our state of the art Upper School building, the chemistry lab buzzes (and bubbles) with the excitement of hands-on experimentation. Stroll a bit further and the sounds coming from the AP French and Spanish rooms will have you conviced that you have just been transported abroad.
A key component of a St. Johns education is the adviser program where the promise that "Your child will be known and loved" is honored. It makes sense, once you realize that St. Johns' adviser team is comprised entirely of faculty members.
