St. Johns' Technology staff is dedicated to making the latest educational technologies available to students, faculty and staff.
All middle and upper school classrooms are equipped with an interactive whiteboard. In addition every classroom is equipped with a ceiling mounted projector, speakers, and a computer for each faculty member, and a minimum of 1 computer for student use.
Students in grades 6-12 are provided an @sjcds.net email address, as well as access to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, online file storage, and documnet collaboration through Microsoft's Office 365 cloud services.
St. Johns' infrastructure consists of a campus wide Gigabit fiber-optic network, with campus wide wireless capability. We offer Internet access at up to 20 Mb of bandwidth. We support both Microsoft and Apple OS X servers and workstations and stay current with updates and the latest versions of operating systems and software. Our servers support a Microsoft Active Directory environment, Microsoft Exchange 2010 email server, SPAM filtering, a CIPA compliant internet filter, networked software applications, and Data Storage for students and faculty. We offer telephone service from all classrooms, offices and mechanical spaces, and support mobile communication devices for the administration and staff.
Computer Labs
On campus students have access to a 24 iMac computer lab, and a 24 PC computer lab. Students also have access to an additional 24 computers in the Heinrich Library.
Mobile Laptop Carts
Faculty and students have access to four laptop carts that can be scheduled for in-class work. One additional laptop cart is dedicated to the lower school.
The Tech Team also provides technical support for staff and administration in their use of meeting rooms, AV equipment, application software, and communication devices.
