Coach: Jay Birmingham

Our program includes runners from grades 6 through 12. Approximately 40 St. Johns students train with the team and compete in weekly races over 5,000 meters at various locations in northeast Florida. Our boys team has qualified for State four times since 2005. In 2014, the boys won District, and were Region runner-up. Our girls team has advanced to State eleven of the past 12 years. Head coach Jay Birmingham is a life-long runner and has coached since 1965. The philosophy of the St. Johns cross country program is steady development of each runner from year to year. Each season, the team gradually increases the intensity of its training with the goal of excelling in the State Championship Series of races.
