At St. Johns, the college search is all about finding a great match on many different levels. Beginning in Lower School, students are encouraged to get connected into their community and pursue challenging academic paths. In the Junior and Senior years, students are enrolled in Practicum—a college counseling course led by the St. Johns college counseling team. This course is designed to guide St. Johns students through the search, admission, financial, and enrollment processes of college. We support our students as they take responsibility for investigating colleges, meeting deadlines, registering for standardized testing, composing admission essays, and submitting applications. In addition to teaching the Junior and Senior Practicum classes, the Office of College Counseling partners with each family. Individual family meetings focus on all aspects of the college search process. Additionally, the college counseling office hosts college representatives from around the globe to meet personally with our students to help them better understand the college admission process.

We believe that this journey toward higher education is a vital one. Our greatest joy is to partner with our students and their families as they pursue their goals.
