St. Johns Lower School is proud to welcome Mrs. Nicole Thompson to Grade 2. Mrs. Thompson and her family have just moved back to Florida from Houston, Texas. Prior to living in the Lone Star State, Mrs. Thompson lived in Naples, Florida, where she taught at the Village School and the Community School.
"We are so pleased to have Mrs. Thompson joining St. Johns Lower School this year," said Head of Lower School Mary Helen Cauthen. "Her energy and enthusiasm will be a terrific asset."
Mrs. Thompson has been teaching for nearly 20 years in grades ranging from preschool through Grade 6. Her goal in teaching is to create an environment in which her students feel safe, supported, and know what's expected of them. This, she says, leads them to educational and personal success, and helps to build community within the classroom.
"I am so happy to have the opportunity to teach at St. Johns," says Thompson. "I know it will be a wonderful place for teaching and learning."
Mrs. Thompson is married with two children. Her son, Joshua, just graduated from high school and her daughter, Rachel, is a rising junior. In their free time, Mrs. Thompson and her family love scuba diving, golfing, surfing, and archery. "We are very much an outdoor and water-loving family!" she says.
