Health Room Policy

Regular attendance is a very important part of education.  However, illnesses do occur.  In order to decrease the chance for spreading illness to others at school please keep your child home if she/he has:

  • had a temperature of 100 degrees or more in the past 24 hours.  The child must be fever free without medications to be able to return to school.
  • vomited or had diarrhea in the past 8 hours.
  • a bacterial infection (strep throat, etc.) and has been treated with antibiotics for less than 24 hours.
  • a constant cough that would disrupt the classroom.
  • a communicable disease (chicken pox, impetigo, etc.) and has
not received written authorization from your doctor for readmission to school.

A child will be sent home from school if he/she has:

  • a temperature of 100 degrees or more
  • vomited
  • diarrhea
  • an unidentifiable rash
  • pink eye symptoms (red, itchy, discharge)
  • a communicable disease (chicken pox, impetigo, etc.)

Please make sure your emergency forms are up to date throughout the year.  If you have any changes, be sure to contact Staci Roberts, RN at 264-9572 ext.4215 to report those changes.
