2002: Dr. Gay Culverhouse
Dr. Gay Culverhouse was chosen to receive the school’s first Outstanding Alumnus Award. A Jacksonville native and former president of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dr. Culverhouse was, at the time of the award, an adjunct professor at Teachers College at Columbia University. She also served as business manager for Aquarian Land Ventures, a consultant to Escore (an internet educational company), and chaired The Center for Opportunities and Outcomes for People with Disabilities, Teachers College.
Dr. Culverhouse served on the boards of Cleveland Clinic Foundation; Teachers College, Columbia University; Eckerd College; and Linden Hill School. Other honors include being named one of fifty outstanding woman graduates at The University of Florida (1998), a Distinguished Alumnus of The University of Florida (1997), Executive Woman of the Year by the Network of Executive Women (1992), and Person of Distinction (1984) by the Salvation Army, Tampa, Florida.
Dr. Culverhouse resides in New York City.
