St. Johns Country Day School

Girls Varsity Track & Field

Coach: Jay Birmingham

Students from grades 6 through 12 participate in track and field. Approximately 60 St. Johns students train with the team and compete in 10 track meets. The girls team has won eleven District titles in the past 12 years. In 2014, both boys and girls teams won their Districts. Every year since 2004, an average of 12 Spartans have advanced to the State track meet where many have medaled. Recent state championships have been won by St. Johns athletes in the 100, 200, long jump, discus throw, and 4x400 meter relay. The philosophy promoted by head coach Jay Birmingham is steady improvement of strength, endurance, speed, and skills--during each season and from year to year. The emphasis in track and field at St. Johns is constant striving to set new PRs (personal records). Students are encouraged to try several different events. No one is ever cut from the track and field team.

No schedule has been posted for this team.
