St. Johns' Track & Field is open to all students in Grades 6-12 and operates on a "no cut" policy. Approximately 60 students train with the team and compete in 10 track meets throughout the spring season.
The philosophy of St. Johns' Track & Field focuses on the steady improvement of strength, endurance, speed, and skills--during each season and from year to year. The emphasis in track and field at St. Johns is constant striving to set new PRs (personal records). Students are encouraged to try several different events.
The girls team has won eleven District titles since 2004. St. Johns athletes have medaled in the 100, 200, 400, 800, and 3200m races, pole vault, long jump, high jump, discus throw, 4x400 meter relay, and the 100 and 300m hurdles.
