The philosophy of the St. Johns cross country program is steady development of each runner from year to year. Each season, the team gradually increases the intensity of its training with the goal of excelling in the State Championship series-- District, Regionals, and State.

St. Johns' cross country program includes approximately 40 runners from Grades 6 through 12 who train with the team and compete in weekly races over 5,000 meters at various locations across northeast Florida.

The boys team has qualified for the State Championships four times since 2005. In 2014, the boys won District, and were Regional runners-up. The girls team has advanced to State eleven of the past 12 years.
