Middle School Holds Honor Code Assembly

Friday morning the St. Johns Middle School held its annual Honor Code Assembly, in which students pledge to uphold the school Honor Code and pledge honesty and ethical responsibility in all dealings, including online.

After introductory remarks by Head of Middle School Bill Rothe and Middle School Dean Beth Gryczewski, Grade 8 Student Council President John Cabrera asked students to stand and recite:

I am a student at St Johns Country Day School.

My good deeds and thoughtful words

will strengthen me each day I am here.

I have a duty to be an ethically responsible student.

I will strive to be a person of integrity.

I will be honest and open in all of dealings with others.

This is the Spartan way.

After the recitation, students lined up by grade to sign a placard pledging "Honesty in All Dealings." The signed placard will be on display in the Middle School all year.
