Good afternoon, and welcome back! We hope your break was fabulous. Here are this week's news and announcements from St. Johns Country Day School:
Please join us for the first PTL meeting of the new year tomorrow, Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 8:15 a.m. in the Lower School library. All St. Johns parents are members of the PTL, whether you've never been to a meeting, or never missed one, and we look forward to seeing you there.
Student-led conferences will take place next week, Wednesday, January 10, 2018, for students in Kindergarten through Grade 11. If you haven't yet had a chance to sign up, there is still time!
- For conferences in the Lower School, please reach out to Ms. Evans.
- For Middle School student conferences, please use our online scheduler to book a convenient time with your student's homeroom teacher.
- For Upper School student conferences, please use the Upper School scheduler.
We look forward to seeing everyone at student-led conferences next week!
Career Week Begins
Senior Career Week begins tomorrow, and is the time each year when our soon-to-be graduates spend some time "out in the real world," trying on possible occupations, shadowing professionals, and seeing what fits or doesn't fit. This year, St. Johns seniors are trying out occupations varying from air traffic control and veterinary science to elementary education and gastroenterology. Thank you very much to everyone who helped make these "shadow days" possible, and good luck, Seniors!
Pro-Kids Show Returning in January
Back by popular demand, the tremendously entertaining Pro-Kids Show will return to St. Johns on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. This fun, family-friendly show is part comedy act, part magic show, and part character development. Filled with music, laughter, and audience participation, the Pro-Kids Show is suitable for kids of all ages, so bring the whole family to this fun-filled evening! All are welcome, and admittance is free.
St. Johns Celebrates!
Our annual celebration of what makes St. Johns so special, St. Johns Celebrates!, will take place on Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. As a reminder, we are using St. Johns Celebrates! as one of our Hurricane Irma make up days, so attendance is mandatory for all students. There's a lot going on, and we look forward to seeing everyone on campus!
January Birthday Books
Does your student have a birthday in January? Honor them and their special donation to the Heinrich Learning Resource Center. If your student has a birthday this month, check the Tuesday folders or your mailbox for more information, or reach out to Library Clerk Leslie Glenn. Thank you for helping our library grow with books students want to read!
Honor the Past. Invest in the Future.
Happy New Year! 2017 was such a tremendous year at St. Johns Country Day School, with the announcement of several exciting new programs and initiatives. 2018 is sure to be just as busy and, as always, we appreciate your support for the many opportunities we endeavor to give our St. Johns Spartans.
Your participation in the school's Annual Fund helps us ensure that these amazing opportunities continue to be available. If you have already given this school year, thank you. We truly appreciate your support. If you have not yet the opportunity to give, we hope you will consider doing so now. No gift is too small and every dollar goes to help support our school.
We hope you have a great week!
