New Facilities Supervisor
St. Johns is pleased to announce that longtime facilities team member Mr. Richard Jeffers has been promoted to Facilities Supervisor. Mr. Jeffers has more than 20 years experience in the landscape and maintenance fields and brings with him to this position a true passion for St. Johns and for leading his team to continued excellence. Congratulations, Mr. Jeffers!
January Character Foundations
This month in Character Foundations, Spartans from age 3 through Grade 12 will be learning about, practicing, and demonstrating self-control, which is defined as "choosing to do what you should do, not what you want to do."
January 17th Deadline for Yearbook Nameplates
This Thursday, January 17th, is the deadline to purchase personalized nameplates for your student's yearbook. Nameplates are $10 and can be ordered at www.yearbookordercenter.
Spartan Boosters Meeting Tuesday, January 22
Spartan Boosters will meet next week Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. in the library. Come join our dedicated team of volunteers devoted to supporting our Spartan athletes.
Second Quarter Report Cards
Report cards for Lower School students will be available for you at Student-Led Conferences tomorrow. Parents of Middle and Upper School students can download their student's report cards anytime from My School App.

Don't miss student-led conferences tomorrow, Wednesday, January 16, 2019! Plan to join your student's homeroom teacher/advisor for a status update and discussion led by your student. If you're not already scheduled, please call your division assistant to see if there are any vacant spots.

Community Education Seminar January 23
On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 5:30 p.m., St. Johns will host a seminar in cooperation with St. Vincent's Healthcare. Supporting our January Character Foundations trait of "self-control," Dr. Ellen A. Williams PhD, will present "Self-Control: How to Do What You Should Even When You Don’t Want To." In this helpful and informative presentation, Dr. Williams will unpack myths around self-control, solve some of the mystery about what conditions increase and decrease your willpower, and share simple skill sets that you can use to improve your ability to do what is in your best interest.

Insider's Guide to College Admissions Testing
On Monday, January 28, 2019, at 6:30 pm, St. Johns will host an informative discussion for parents of Upper School students, "Insider’s Guide to College Admissions Testing." Dr. Diane Berry from Revolution Prep will uncover some secrets to help with the college admissions process. Save the Date: Prep School College Fair
Mark your calendars and save the date for the 2019 Jacksonville Preparatory Schools College Fair, coming Wednesday, February 20, 2019, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the University of North Florida University Center. Representatives will be on hand from more than 60 of the nation's top colleges and universities to answer your questions and talk with your student. This event is free for all St. Johns students and families. St. Johns' College Counselors will also be available to provide assistance and answer any questions you might have. Questions?
