Campus Update for Tuesday, November 9

Good afternoon, here are this week's news and announcements from St. Johns Country Day School:

Congratulations, Theatre Students!

Hearty congratulations to Mr. Riker and the technical theatre and theatrical performance students on an amazing weekend production of "A Wrinkle in Time." Everyone worked hard to pull the production together—from learning lines to painting sets—and the effort showed. We hope you were able to get to the PAC to see it! Congratulations, everyone! Support Our Food Drive

Lower School Student Council is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Green Cove Springs Food Pantry. Please send in donations to your child's homeroom teacher or to the Reception Desk any time between now and the morning of November 17.  "Since the food pantry's first year, in 1989, St. Johns has participated in this event," says Lower School Student Council Sponsor Jennifer Keller. "The Green Cove Springs Food Pantry currently feeds more than 55 families per week and the donations made from St. Johns have always been huge contributions for their shelves." Much-needed items include (in order of preference): canned meats (stew, chicken and dumplings, chicken, and tuna), canned fruit, canned vegetables, peanut butter, and beans/soup. Thank you for your support!

Book Fair This Week!

The Scholastic Book Fair is here! Stop by this week, today and tomorrow from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and Thursday (Grandparents Day) 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Featuring tons of popular titles for all ages, the Book Fair will help you get started on your holiday shopping and all proceeds support our School library.

Welcome, Grandparents!

St. Johns is looking forward to welcoming Lower School grandparents or grandfriends this Thursday, November 11, for Grandparents Day! Due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate parents or other guests on Thursday, so please join us for Parent Preview Day tomorrow, November 10, at 9:00 a.m. Guest check-in for both performance dates will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center lobby. Please bring your driving license! Also, as a reminder, next Thursday, November 11, is a special occasion dress day for all students.

Veterans Day Assembly

This Thursday, November 11, the School will host a Veterans Day assembly at 12:50 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. Middle and Upper School students will all attend, and St. Johns invites any and all veterans in the School community to join us as well. Please allow a few extra minutes to check in at Reception in the Administration building before proceeding to the PAC.
