Good afternoon! Just a quick reminder that our Fall School Holiday starts this Friday, October 13, and continues through Monday. School resumes on Tuesday, October 17, and students will use the new 4-Day Bell Schedules both this week and next. Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to last week's Nichols & Pina Spartan Athlete of the Week, Josh Lewis '25! As a member of the Swim Team, Josh has had an outstanding season most recently defeating Middleburg High School and winning the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 56.38 and also winning the 200IM. His relay team in the 200 Medley was also victorious. Congratulations Josh!
Report Cards
This Friday marks the end of Quarter 1 and the close of the first marking period. First quarter report cards for all divisions will be posted and available in the Veracross Parent Portal on Friday, October 20.
Conference Days
Conference Days are coming up! Mark your calendars for Lower School Conference Day on Tuesday, October 24 and Middle & Upper School Conference Day on Friday, November 3, 2023. Registration is open now in your Veracross Parent Portal. Please note that on October 24, Lower School students will be off and Middle and Upper School students will be in session. On November 3, Lower School students will be in session and Middle & Upper School will be off.
Join Us for Coffee Talk
The St. Johns Parent Association (SJPA) invites you to get involved with the School! If you haven't already filled out the SJPA Volunteer Form, click here to do so. The SJPA will be sending out more information about October volunteer opportunities, so be on the lookout. We also invite you to join us for a Coffee Talk with Head of Middle School Ben Magidson on Wednesday, October 18, immediately following flag raising in the PLH. Hear from Mr. Magidson and ask any questions that may be on your mind. We look forward to seeing you!
Mr. St. Johns October 21
Be sure to mark your calendars and save the date for the annual Mr. St. Johns competition, coming on Saturday, October 21, at 7:00 p.m. to St. Johns' Performing Arts Center! The theme this year is Barbie, so brace yourself for tons of fun with lots of Kens, hosted by St. Johns' Interact Club. Tickets are $5 at the door and all proceeds go to American Cancer Society. Be sure to bring extra cash to vote for your favorite contestants, and we'll see you there!
Yearbook Tribute Ads
Want to honor a student, club group, or special senior? Celebrate them with a Chalice yearbook tribute ad. The final deadline to reserve your space is October 25, 2023. Please remember that yearbook advisors/staff cannot edit finalized tribute ads, so be sure to carefully review your creation before submitting it.
Spartan Fest October 27
We can't wait to see you at Spartan Fest—a night of food and fun for the Spartan community—on Friday, October 27, from 3:30-6:00 p.m. There will be crafts, face painting, games, food trucks, and more, so bring the whole family! Then, when Spartan Fest winds down, head on up to the soccer fields where there will be a soccer double-header. Starting at 6:00 p.m., the boys face off against Ridgeview and the girls play Bolles. You won't want to miss the halftime crowning of the Homecoming Queen. See you there!
Spartan Fest Tournaments
Don't miss the backyard games tournaments this year at Spartan Fest! From 4:30-5:30 p.m., three student tournaments will take place: Cornhole, on the tennis courts, open to all Middle and Upper School; Spikeball, for Middle School only, on the Roddey R. Fisher Quad, and Pickleball, for Upper School only, on the tennis courts. Registration is open now through October 23, so sign up today!
