St. Johns Country Day School is proud to welcome Brittany & Brooke Michael to its varsity softball coaching staff, led by Head Coach Brittany McGuire.
Coach Brittany Michael
Brittany Michael is a graduate of Ridgeview High School, where she was a four year starter on the Varsity Softball team. Her resume boasts a 4X All-State Selection, 6A MVP, and Player of the Year in 2021 as a pitcher for the Panthers.
Brittany was a two way, spending a lot of time in the circle, but contributed to her team as an offensive weapon as well. In 2019 and 2021, she helped lead her team to the Final Four in the State Championship.
Following her High School career, Brittany chose to play softball at Tallahassee Community College. She was a decorated collegiate pitcher who also played an ample amount of first base and quickly earned herself a spot in the starting lineup. In her time at TCC she earned NJCAA National Player of the week and was named 2X FCSAA player of the week as a pitcher.
Upon completing her run at TCC, Brittany earned All-Panhandle Conference Second Team back to back years. Concluding her final year at Tallahassee Community College she tallied a 1.12 total ERA and a .315 batting average.
After her time at TCC, Brittany transferred to Division 2 Georgia Southwestern State University, where she earned a starting spot on the pitching staff and in the batting line up. Brittany came in as a triple threat to GSW providing power in pitching, fielding, and hitting.
Coach Brooke Michael
Brooke Michael was a four year starter at catcher for the Ridgeview Panthers in high school. In 2019, she batted .411, winning a spot on the Times-Union's All-First Coast team. In 2020 she hit .419 and earned acclaim as one of the leading catchers in Northeast Florida Softball. Brooke was part of Ridgeview's deep playoff runs to the final four in 2019 and 2021.
After high school, Brooke chose to play softball at Tallahassee Community College, where she quickly found herself starting role as a catcher, while providing power in the line up.
In 2022, she hit three home runs, drove in 19 and struck out just seven times in 110 plate appearances. To top off the 2022 season, she earned conference recognition and was awarded Second Team All-Panhandle.
Following her career at TCC, Brooke Transferred to Georgia Southwestern State University, where she competed in the fall season of 2023.
Brittany and Brooke join Head Softball Coach Brittany McGuire, who joined the School last summer. McGuire was a four-year member of the Ponte Vedra High School varsity softball team and hit .533 with five home runs and 32 RBI as a sophomore and followed with an average of .329 with five home runs and 29 RBI in her junior season. She earned All-County distinction in each of her four years, was named All-First Coast for three-consecutive seasons and was All State for two years. Her senior year, she was announced as the team’s MVP.
Head Softball Coach Brittany McGuire
After graduating from PVHS, McGuire chose to continue her softball career at Florida Gulf Coast University, where she started all four years unless taken out pre-injury. She played 3rd base, had a .949 fielding percentage, and was the 2018 Winner of Carl McAloose Spirit Award, which recognizes athletes who best exemplify FGCU’s first Director of Athletics’ spirit and love for FGCU Athletics, as well as dedication to their team and teammates.
After graduating from Florida Gulf Coast University, McGuire played overseas until a knee injury ended her career. She ended the season with League MVP and Best Pitcher Award.

I am excited for both of these coaches to join Head Coach McGuire in pouring their wealth of knowledge, integrity, and skill to continue to elevate our softball program!"
