Before & After School Programs
The Extended Day after school program offers before and after school care for Lower School students. The program has been in existence for more than 30 years.
The Extended Day rooms are located on the Lower School wing of St. Johns. The program is open from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. for early drop off and from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. after school. On Parent/Teacher Conference days and Teacher Planning Days the after school Program is open from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Rates can be found in the Extended Day Handbook.
Students in PK-3 and PK-4 who stay for the after school program will either nap or play quietly. Those that nap will need a towel or blanket and may bring a favorite stuffed animal. Students are brought to the playground after nap time, and those that leave for the 3:15 p.m. dismissal will go to a carpool room for parent pickup.
Students in Kindergarten that stay for the after school Program will go directly from the classroom to the playground, weather permitting. Kindergarten students that are dismissed with the 3:15 p.m. carpool will be brought to their carpool room.
At 3:15 p.m. all students will be given a snack which includes fresh fruit, and a time to relax and play. At 4:00 p.m. students in Grades 1-5 will have supervised homework time. The preschool students will listen to a story or complete an art project.
Between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m., students in Grades 1-5 will play on the playground or enjoy inside play. Preschool students will play on the age appropriate playground or engage in creative play inside.
