Discover your place at St. Johns

Building confidence, curiosity, and character from the start.

At St. Johns Country Day School, our Lower School is where confidence, curiosity, and character take root. Students learn in a nurturing environment where every child is known, supported, and encouraged to shine. From Pre-K3 through Grade 5, our teachers cultivate joyful learning through hands-on exploration, creative expression, and strong relationships that build the foundation for lifelong success.

OUR APPROACH

Learning that inspires and lasts a lifetime.

Our Caring School Community approach emphasizes respect, empathy, and responsibility, helping students develop social and emotional intelligence alongside academic skills. Daily routines, collaborative projects, and school-wide traditions, like Town Meetings and Senior–First Grade Buddies, strengthen the sense of belonging that defines the St. Johns experience.
Parents are active partners in the learning journey, welcomed into classrooms and celebrations as their children grow in confidence and independence. With small class sizes and personalized instruction, students are given the tools, encouragement, and space to explore who they are and who they want to become.

THE ACADEMY

The Academy bridges the Lower and Middle School years, guiding students toward greater independence, academic rigor, and emotional maturity.

From managing their own lockers to switching classes independently, Academy students are challenged to think critically and take ownership of their learning while still benefiting from the care and support that define St. Johns.

Here, students develop the confidence to lead, the resilience to try again, and the empathy to support others — all within a joyful, connected community.
